Rushville Post Office
The Rushville Post Office has a history going back to its establishment on January 18th, 1827. However, its history is difficult to track because in the 1800s, every time a postmaster of Rushville would change, so would the location of the post office. For nearly 100 years, this was the case, with the location of the post office changing an estimated 30 or more times. The present-day post office, however, has not changed locations in 77 years. It was built on the northeast corner of the square in 1938. Since then, the postmaster has changed many times, but the location has remained consistent. |
